Alpe d'Huez triathlon | transport and airport transfers

There will be four events available which are as follows:
Race deails
The Duathlon - run of 6.5km with 100m ascent, cycling of 15km up Alpe d'Huez with 1170m of ascent , and then a 5,5km footrace with 30m of ascent.
Kids triathlon - will be a mix of distances depending on age.
Short distance - swim 1.2km, cycle 28km with 1415m of ascent finishing at the top of Alpe d’Huez and then run 6.7km with 110m of ascent
Long distance - swim 2.2km, cycle 118km with 3200m of ascent finishing at the top of Alpe d’Huez and then run 20km with 340m of ascent
The cycle up Alpe d’Huez The 21 bends are probably in the top five of the world’s most famous cycling ascents. The climb has featured in many exciting stage finishes of the Tour de France over the years with the last being in 2018. The ascent also plays a big part in amateur competitions such as the annual Marmotte Granfondo which also finishes at the top.
The road is in good condition and is kept open all year. It has kilometre markers detailing the gradient ahead and the remaining kilometres to the summit which can be a help or hindrance.

The swimming will be in Lac Verney which is only open to swimmers for this event thanks to EDF shutting down their hydroelectric plant.
We offer an airport taxi / minibus transfer and shuttle service from Grenoble airport, Lyon airport and Geneva airport and train stations to Alpe d’Huez to cover this event.
