Alpe d'huez Triathalon 2018

Alpe d'Huez triathlon transport from the airport to the ski resort. We transfer you faster than local buses and our mini buses are larger than most taxis available so bike boxes are not usually a problem. If you are a larger group travelling together the cost per person reduce in price.

For the 13th consecutive year the EDF triathlon will be held in Alpe d’Huez from the 30th July to August 3rd 2018. There will be four events available which are as follows: 

Race details 2018

The Duathlon (31/07/18) will be available to check out the area with a run of 6.5km with 100m ascent, cycling of 15km up Alpe d'Huez with 1170m of ascent , and then a 2,5km footrace with 30m of ascent.

Kids triathlon (01/08/18) will be a mix of distances depending on age.

Short distance (03/08/18) will be swim 1.2km, cycle 28km with 1415m of ascent finishing at the top of Alpe d’Huez and then run 6.7km with 110m of ascent

Long distance (02/08/18) will be swim 2.2km, cycle 118km with 3200m of ascent finishing at the top of Alpe d’Huez and then run 20km with 340m of ascent

The cycle up Alpe d’Huez is a test for even the professionals as it has an average gradient of 8% which ranges between 10% and 12%.

The swimming will be in Lac Verney which is only open to swimmers for this event thanks to EDF shutting down their hydroelectric plant. 

We offer an airport taxi / minibus transfer and shuttle service from Grenoble, Lyon, Geneva airports and train stations to Alpe d’Huez to cover this event.
