Tour de France 2018

The Tour de France is an iconic cycling race that has been held in France annually for more than 100 years. Surely one of the most physically demanding events in the world; the various teams will cycle around 3329km over a three week period with only a few rest days. Each year the organisers select different routes within various areas of France and the neighbouring countries to create the toughest, exciting course possible which always finishes in Paris at the Champs-Élysées.

This year the 105th tour will start on July 7th in Vendée - Pays de la Loire and finishes in Paris at the Champs-Élysées on 29/07/2018.

Stage 12 on the 19th of July will start from Bourg St Maurice and cover 175km of tough ascents including Col de la Madeleine (2000m altitude), Col de la Croix de Fer (2067m altitude) then the iconic 21 switch backs to end at the summit of the mighty Alpe d'Huez (1838m altitude).

Stage 13 on the 20th of July starts from the market town of Le Bourg d'Oisans and ends in Valence after 169km

The total distance of the event is 3,329km
